Three weeks ago we had an unusual English lesson at school. We had special guests. There was our previous English teacher among them, who was very pleased to see us again. There were French teachers and their English colleagues. But the most important guest was the headmistress. She was very beautiful that day dressed in a blue costume. She was attentively listening to us. The topic of our lesson was “My Ideal School”. We were talking about different schools in different countries. The lesson started at 10 a.m. and when we were ready to start, a strange and mysterious guest suddenly appeared on the door way. We asked him who he was and he told that he was Harry Potter! All the pupils and guests were really excited and amazed. Harry Potter told us that he is from Hogwarts and that he studies at a magic school. To prove that he is a magician, Harry suggested watching a short video about his school and friends. After the video my inspired classmates decided to tell each other about their schools. There were two students from Rodean British School which is only for girls, two boys from Eton College, three pupils from Atlantic College. Atlantic College is a boarding, mixed school. Anyone can apply to this school. There are no restrictions on nationality, religious or political beliefs. The Organization can help students if they need money. Two students were home educated. Parents help students study at home and sometimes give them tests to check their new knowledge. After those stories our teacher suggested watching a short video about British schools. It was very interesting and useful to compare our school with British comprehensive ones. While we were talking about our schools, Harry Potter invented some entertainment for us. In the first task we had to guess the word by its meaning. We all got prizes for that, we had great fun which we liked most about the lesson. After that Harry offered us to say some Tongue Twisters. It was very good but after 5 minutes we got tired, so we decided to have a rest. Our teacher showed us a very interesting presentation about the best schools in the world and some schools which shook the world. What is more, before our lesson my classmate Jane and I had prepared a project «My Ideal School». We showed a nice poster with colorful pictures of our ideal school. Another student showed a nice Power Point presentation about her school of dream. My ideal school is near the ocean. Children can get up when they want and have a great tasty breakfast. Every student can choose his individual subjects. After classes pupils can have a rest and do what they want. But I think it’s only a dream! After our projects we decided to choose the best school in the world. We had a voting and when our teacher counted the voices, we found out that our pupils prefer the magic school to all the schools)) Our teacher read to us some nice proverbs. For example, “A child without education, is like a bird without wings” Money spent on the brain is never spent in vain. Practice makes perfect. There is no knowledge as dangerous as half-knowledge. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. (Nelson Mandela) I will always remember my teacher’s words “We are all magicians of our lives, and everything depends on us” At the end of the lesson we took some photos. Of course we all learnt a lot of new things, we all had fun and great time. Next day we got good marks.
