What, in my opinion, makes a lesson of English language an ideal lesson? I think any lesson is good if you want to learn. If I don’t want to learn nothing can interest me, I am sure. Learning a language is not an easy thing. It is a step-by step process that takes a lot of time and patience. But knowing languages today is absolutely necessary for everyone. Knowledge of foreign languages helps young people of different countries to develop friendship. When they meet at festivals or in the international friendship camps, they can practice in English and understand each other better. I think that to know English today is absolutely necessary for every educated man, for every good specialist. Any language is like music. It requires everyday training. And this training consists of four main skills that we should train. These are listening, speaking, reading and writing. I also think that we should memorize new words at the lesson and after it. And you see how laconically beautiful it is, how expressive and impressive it can be. I think only at this moment you actually begin working at your English because you can understand what you need. As for learning grammar rules and writing grammar exercises, I think, these are not the most important parts of the classroom work. If you can’t say anything in English there is no point in knowing all the present and past tenses. But still grammar rules help us a lot when we need to speak. And for me it works well if I work out grammar rules for myself. I like when my teacher corrects my mistakes, I try don’t repeat them again. But if we only read, translate and learn new words by heart our lessons will be rather monotone and alike. Our teacher says that communication with English-speaking people is very important and useful for pupils, who learn English. Opportunity of communication in English was a real luck for us at our English lessons. Practicing speaking is more important, I suppose. The theme of such lesson was “Shopping”. We could learn a lot about different shops and stores in English-speaking countries. And it was interesting because our teacher showed us different pictures and we watched videos about shops in America, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Then we were at the “Market”: we tried to make up dialogues and bought some products, fruit and vegetables. I like pair work very much. But the role-plays were the best! They helped a lot when we wanted to speak in different situations. We acted as sellers and customers. What I liked best of all in our English lesson was the merry and friendly atmosphere in the class. The funny jokes were always greeted. During this lesson we spoke English only. At the end of this lesson teacher gave us creative task- a project work. Class was divided on groups. Each of these groups had to make-up a poster”Different kinds of shops” and protected it. It was very interesting, because children gave marks to each other themselves. I want to say that all English lessons are the most interesting and the most exciting lessons for me. That's why I like them very much and I’d like to be an English teacher in the future.
