  • The most memorable lesson of my life Every day I have a lot of lessons in different subjects. Math’s, biology, chemistry, history, literature… But my favourite is one and only subject of English. English is a clue to magnificent future. I look forward to every English lesson. That’s thanks to my teacher Olga Vasilievna. She is the only teacher who explains the material perfectly. In help come different interactive methods. For example, every lesson we have to work in pairs. Pupils are divided into groups of two or three and have to make a conversation about any topic. Profession, natural disasters, love, sympathy, lifestyle, honesty… Not a problem! We can talk about anything. Also, we discuss different movies, music styles or even robbery. The point is we tell our opinion in English. But one time we had a special lesson. Our school volunteer Miss Jenny was our teacher for that moment. She gave us a task to prepare a massage about environment. Me and my friend prepared a movie for this topic. We were filming all day long. But it was worth it. The movie was about two girls walking in a park. They saw a girl littering , so they stopped to tell her not to do it and also explained why. - ‘Garbage is all over the street. You can’t litter’ - ‘Why?’ - ‘It’s bad for our culture. What would you prefer walking down a clean street or with lots of garbage?’ - ‘Yes, you’re right. I promise’ In the movie we had shown pictures of different landfill and explained all disadvantages of littering in our opinion. After presentation the whole class applauded. Each of my classmates wanted to express an opinion, so we had a small conversation. - One said ‘Littering is bad for the atmosphere. The ozone holes get produced’ - ‘Air pollution is also a huge problem for environment’ - ‘What about deforestation? A lot of animals, birds and plants die of this problem’ So our lesson turned into discussion. Our teachers Olga Vasilievna and Miss Jenny decided to divide us into five groups of 3-4 people. Each group had a topic (one environment problem). We had to think of disadvantages and ways for a solution. It was so interesting. I found out so much about every topic. And by the way we could advance the report of each team. By the end of the lesson we thanked our teachers and asked to do something similar for the next lesson but for another topic. When the next lesson came we found out that our teacher prepared for us some competition. We were divided into 4 groups of 5 people. Each team had to get the most points to win. Miss Jenny used brainstorm to test how much we knew about etiquette. One question, second, third, fourth… and nobody counted points. We were SO into it. Personally I found out a lot of new information. The man never carries woman bag. And female’s coat is taken just to get across to the locker room. If you go with someone else, and your companion greets a strange man you should say hello too.. Many believe that sushi can only be eaten with chopsticks. However, this is not entirely correct. Men, unlike women, can have sushi with hands. Do not engage in idle chatter on the phone. If you are in need of spiritual conversation, it is better to meet with the other eye to eye. If you are offended, do not meet the same rudeness, and even more so, to raise your voice at the person insulted you. Do not stoop to his level. Smile politely and move away from the ill-mannered companion. On the streets men must go to the left of the ladies. On the right only soldiers can go, who must be prepared to perform a salute. The most important thing for me is to enjoy the game and it has happened. Thanks to Miss Jenny. My team shared the first place with one more team but that didn’t matter. Working in atmosphere of friendship and respect is more than we were hoping for. I miss our volunteer Jennifer. She has already left Ukraine. Now our teacher of English Olga Vasielievna Prihodko organizes lessons with the same method. She promised us to use different methodic but we wouldl find it only at the next lesson…
